This was the skeleton of a Bryde's Whale which washed up on a nearby beach about four years before our visit. After the rest of the animal had been consumed by birds and other animals, Gon assembled the bones to make this exhibit in the Visitors Center. Some of the other interesting exhibits included a shell collection and remains of a dugong. They had a small nursery for native plants which included the rare Lady's Slipper orchids endemic to the park islands. |
